This is also the first anniversary of the adoption of my cat, Napoleon, who yet again I wonder why I did not name Frodo.
Since good days are certainly not reserved to only LotR-fans, happy first day of fall to everyone else! It is coming very suddenly here, but is very welcome.
Upon the hearth a fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone...
Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
East of the moon, west of the sun.
(from The Fellowship of the Ring)
**Note: My computer recently died, and remained in that condition for several days. Which is not amusing when there is schoolwork to be done on said computer, let me tell you. But it has been resurrected, and renamed Banquo's Ghost **

"Oh you can search far and wide,
You can drink the whole town dry.
You'll never find a beer so brown
But you'll never find a beer so brown
As the one we're drinking in our town.
You can kick your fancy ales.
You can drink em by the flagon.
But the only brew for the brave and true . . .
Comes from the Green Dragon!"

Another one -
Ho ho ho to the bottle I go
To heal my heart and drown my woe
Rain may fall and wind may blow
And still there be many miles to go
But under a tall tree I will lie
And let the clouds go sailing by!
Cheers!
