I'm actually going to try to start drawing again, surprisingly. (And you all thought I had given it up!) I posted a work-in-progress last week (you knew that, though), which I am going to update hopefully today. I haven't gotten much farther, but I'm going to try to give myself a break on the basis that I haven't done this for a while...
After that one is done I will probably do a Jane Eyre picture. Or maybe something from Pride and Prejudice or Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde or The Picture of Dorian Gray. I don't know yet. But I obviously have a good deal of 19th-century writing on my mind - that is my latest obsession.
And on the other hand, I love how so many stories involve characters trying to understand the workings of the mind - human nature - and dealing with a world that is quickly progressing. Stevenson deals a lot with those ideas - I recently discovered a book of his "dark" short stories that I never even knew existed, and am now completely in love with them. Who knew "The Suicide Club" was a Victorian industrial satire (witty, if horrifying) before it was distorted into an angsty anime movie? I didn't.

I hope I meet someone like Mr Rochester some day... *sigh* Victorian romance was much better. It was less... forward, I suppose.
*end Jane Eyre rant*
